The Kansas Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) Symposium is a two day opportunity to learn about meeting the academic and behavioral needs of all students through a Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS). This symposium is beneficial for all audiences including school board members, district and building administrators and staff as well as parent and other interested groups.
The 2009 Symposium will focus on interventions used with a multi-tier system for reading, mathematics, and behavior. The Symposium is a conference format; it is not a training for schools in creating the structures and full implementation of MTSS. Presentations around interventions will be based upon level or intensity of intervention and may include a single intervention or a set of interventions used for a particular area. Presentations for strands other than intervention include the topics of leadership, data-based decision making and other.
